Formally trained as a journalist with a Master's Degree from American University in Washington, D.C., Dan has spent the last 15 years working as a journalist and writer covering government and technology in the nation's capital. He's won the prestigious Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism Award for News Reporting and has written four books.

His writing experience includes senior reporter and editor positions for Federal Computer Week, senior writer covering national security for Computerworld Magazine, author of two books published by McGraw-Hill, and currently serves as a regular news and feature story contributor for AOL Government.  His work has been featured by a multitude of national news outlets including CNN, Fox News, Fox Business Network, The History Channel, National Public Radio, CBS Radio and many others.

Dan also has significant international reporting experience, traveling throughout Europe in 1999 reporting on the U.S.-led miltary effort in Kosovo.

Prior to becoming a journalist, Dan was an intelligence officer in the United States Marine Corps.  He led the analysis team for the Second Marine Expeditionary Force during real-world contingency operations in support of the NATO-led effort to stop the violence in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Dan has since taken his love of storytelling in new, exciting directions. From 3D art to videography and animation, Dan has created multimedia productions for major corporate and government clients. Dan's ability to tell compelling stories through his images and videography work has won him great praise from clients throughout the country. It is the type of storytelling that can only come from a professional with Dan's years of experience, formal training and passion for art.
